Now that the village hall has a new upgraded audio visual unit, the next step planned is to create a brand new Community Cinema. The aim is to bring people together and, once the start up costs have been covered, to raise money for community projects.
A consultation meeting was held on Friday October 14, which was well attended, and resulted in suggestions for films, a big thumbs up for the suggestion of themed evenings (with a film and a meal included), and offers of help.
It is planned to sell glasses of wine and Loseley Ice Cream, so the whole experience will be sociable and fun.
The equipment, donated through Chilworth2gether (beneficiary of last year’s Pimms and Picnic evening), is capable of delivering films in cinema style surround sound. A new screen means that, wherever you sit in the room, you’ll have a great view of the action.
It is planned that Friday night will be film night, starting at 8pm.
Films will be shown on the second Friday of the month, and the first date will be announced soon.
Tickets will be £5 on the door, though in future it is hoped to provide a website and a facility to pay in advance to reserve your place.
