  1. “Recently there has been the opportunity to talk to a number of influential people who have been involved in housing in Guildford Borough Council over many years.
Most views seem to be that Guildford will take maybe 3,000 units, mostly near the Research Park and the University.
There will be a large development on the brownfield site at Wisley, between the A3 and M25 towards Leatherhead. Most sources suggest 1,800 units.
There does not seem to be the large developments near Chilworth and Shalford which were in the previous plan.
Most importantly the rarest habitat in the world, lowland heathland, seems to have finally been protected. The previous plan had large numbers of houses on the heathland at Ash and Pirbright, as well as adjacent to the heathland at Blackheath.
Obviously if anybody else is getting contradictory information please add a comment on the website.
I think that all of us who have been involved with Chilworth2gether over the years deserve a pat on the back.”

  2. Chilworth2gether responded to the original Draft Plan. We are aware that Chilworth will still be affected by development, but through smaller scale development projects within the curtiledge of the village.
