The newly formed group, The Friends of the Gunpowder Mills, comprising St Martha Parish Councillors and other interested people, invite Chilworth residents to attend the annual Chilworth Gunpowder Mills meeting, which will be chaired by the Parish Council.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday November 14, 7.30 – 9.30pm in the Village Hall
There will be a varied number of contributions, covering wildlife, world war 2 stories of the time the Tillingbourne valley played its part in the defences of the UK, and a personal contribution from the Mayor, Richard Billington, also one of our County Councillors.
Next year is the 100 years’ anniversary of the closure of the Chilworth Gunpowder Works, and participants at the evening will be asked informally to vote on various ideas as to how Chilworth might mark this event, and to suggest other ideas.
Chilworth2gether will provide the refreshments at the interval.
just a gentle reminder that we will continue our study of the Catholicism course by Bishop Barron with Episode two on the teaching of Jesus, this Saturday. 19 people are currently booked to attend, we have room for 35, so please bring a friend if you can.
I look forward to seeing you all then.
